On Friday the 18th of October 2014, our school Scoil Bhríde celebrated its 50th anniversary. Bishop Denis Nulty concelebrated mass with us along with our priest Fr. Greg. Many parents, grandparents, adults and toddlers came to our school. The Army Band played music after mass. They were brilliant. The school was first opened in 1963 so each classroom chose a decade from the 60's to the present and did a project. Our projects were hanging on the walls all around the school.
We also had a slideshow showing photos of school events from all the decades. It was great fun for all the past pupils seeing the old photos. Bishop Nulty planted a cherry tree at the front of the school. We also buried a time capsule which will be dug up in 20 years. We had fantastic cakes and buns that we all enjoyed. It was a great day and we all worked hard to make it happen, especially the pupils, teachers, parents and people from the locality. We are very lucky to have such great support from our community.
